Buena Park, located on the northside of Chicago, is an incredible neighborhood. Bordered by Graceland to the west, Lake Michigan to the East, and street borders of Montrose to the north, with Irving Park Rd. rounding out the southern border. It is packed with amazing places and, even more importantly, amazing people!

Lifestyle

Living in Buena Park is pretty unique. It's kind of sandwiched between areas that have a bit more entertainment but definitely makes up with events that are special to the area. When you're out on the home search, it's important to know what kind of lifestyle you are actually desiring rather than what type of place you want (meaning don't just pick a home because you think you like it because it has quartz counters). It's important to find the right home but even more important to make sure it is in the right environment.

Are you someone who loves the outdoors? Buena Park is home to some amazing outdoor recreational activities. Montrose Beach, The Bird Sanctuary, and Montrose Boat Harbor all lead to an active lifestyle. If sand, birds, and boating aren't your thing, maybe booking a tee time at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course may be on par! And if those still aren't for you, there's no shame in maybe wanting a little waterfront without sand at the concrete beach! With spectacular views of the skyline and open, unobstructed views of the lake, it's a great place to bring a picnic and just hang out.

Types of Housing

Buena Park is home to a variety of housing types. It has several highrises that are both condos and rentals as well. Around the neighborhood, one will find a mix of walk-up condo buildings and single family homes. Some areas have town/row home style formats that keep with historical design. If you wander down Hutchinson Street, one will experience historic homes that stretch down the block to Lake Shore Drive.

Overall, it's a great blend of living arrangements designed for any style, budget, or living style.

Restaurants and Bars

Just wrapped a full day of outdoor activity and need a place to dine or just simply relax? This neighborhood has got you covered! Looking for some kickass pizza or to throw down a few beers for whatever big game is on? Try Michael's Pizza on Broadway. Maybe a little bit more of a sit-down, lounge feel? Head over to The Reservoir. Still looking for something a little different? Bar on Buena is a perfect chill spot for an amazing cocktail and a delicous burger. Beyond these, we have some amazing Mexican restaurants including El Palmar and Mr. Salsa or hit up Tac Quick or Siam Noodle for Thai. Are you craving some Chinese, then Hunan Egg Roll King is for you! As you can see, no matter the cuisine or dining environment, Buena Park has you covered.

Business and Beyond

We round out Buena Park in Chicago with its business scene! Maybe you need some services from The Uptown Library Branch or looking to get a great cut from Gold Cuts. Then, to work your body, there is Mind Body Defense and Lakeside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And of course, maybe your body and mind could use a little connecting, then Yoga Body Elements is for you!

Overall

Buena Park is an incredible place not only to live in, but to hang out as well. The neighborhood has one of the most active neighborhood associations, Buena Park Neighbors, that is one of the most welcoming, all-inclusive groups out there. They support events such as BOOena Park Safe Trick or Treating, Porchfest, Block Party, and the Famous Ugly Sweater Holiday Bar Crawl! When you're here in Buena Park, you instantly become a neighbor!

Oh...and of course! Need that delicious sandwich or thinking about just heading home and hanging with some friends after a long day? A good bottle of wine from North Buena Deli is always a great choice!
