Comfort Kills

Comfort is the biggest killer of happiness. Comfort feels good for a moment but makes us become weaker. We are either growing or dying and comfort leads to death. Taking control changes everything.

MINDSET

I am not Tony Robbins (obviously...) And it's your choice to love, hate, or even know he exists. It does not matter to me. However, and regardless of your interpretation of him, he does have messaging that is quite true in life.

Trips Vs Journeys

A trip is that you know where you're going. It can be to the grocery store, a friend's house, maybe a vacation to a pre-determined place with tours, reservations, and other sight seeing planned. Essentially, you go and you return and an expectation of some sort of feeling or experience exists. There's nothing wrong with trips as it acts as a time away and you probably acquire something from it. No significant change occurs though.

Journeys, on the other hand, are deeper. It's learning as you go. It's discovering new things about others around you, your environments, and most importantly, yourself. Journeys are more open and liberating. They are the thing that everyone needs in their lives, unfortunately, many do not take or worse, avoid altogether. Journeys may be painful but you will change and grow from them.

Real estate is a journey for most. Many want it to be a trip with an easy outcome, both selling and buying. But it's complex for both. Think about that seller that has owned a home for 50+ years, raised a family, seen grandkids come through, celebrated holidays, and more. Selling is not just moving on to them, it's a change of life. Same goes for buyers that know their life will forever revolve around this new home. One that they must take care of and have the patience, finances, and ability, to maintain.

We learn a lot on these searches about ourselves, our needs, and what our past has been or what our future will be.

Growing or Dying

You probably have heard terminology that everything in life and the universe is either growing or dying. Now, it depends on your outlook of what growth and death looks like. Everything needs a little death for more growth. You learn from pain. It acts as fertilizer in a sense. The challenge is to not overgrow or to die too much (if one can die too much without complete death). Even then, some of our struggles in life may take us to the next thing. And while I make everything about real estate most often, it's very similar. Our searches, our homes, our lives, even neighborhoods. Look at areas that just began to grow; it may be a few new houses and then all of the sudden a whole community. Or an area that is becoming a bit quieter as people have moved on because maybe the area was not managed well (taxes, utility, etc) or just lost its luster. Our mindsets grow and die as well. For ourselves to find what we need in life, we must keep going and not become stagnant (a form of comfort with is a form of death).

Take Control

The video above has a few more things to offer but I will keep it to this last one and that's to take control. Many of us have a worry or concern in our life. It could be a financial issue, health, professional or many others. Often, we just need to take action. Action can be writing out a few things we can do. It can be asking people for help. It can be Googling for some advice or even asking A/I. It doesn't mean you need to act on it all or ever, but it's a start. You will find by taking a little control, it will probably feed into the next level and the next and so on and before you know it, that thing that you were worried about, will be weeks behind you and you will even forget about it but will have made your stronger most likely.

Real Estate

If you watched the video or didn't. If you read above or didn't (although, not quite sure how you got down here then) the moral of all this is to realize there will always be discomfort. We can't have it all because even if we did, we still seek something else. We cannot be completely happy all the time but we can find ways to be fulfilled and continue to grow. Sometimes, it may be trying something new, making a new recipe, or even, thinking about moving or selling. Yes---a plug for my services there to give you the control in your life with my support!
